Swaine Tuition provides tailored, one-to-one support in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Maths and English, as well as SATs preparation, helping each child build confidence and reach their full academic potential through personalised guidance.
What is the duration of each tuition lesson?
Each tuition lesson lasts 1 hour. The tuition sessions usually take place once a week. One subject is covered per tuition session.
What can I expect from a tuition session?
Students will be assessed within the first tutoring session, so that their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses can be understood. Goals are agreed upon by both parties. This information will inform personalised lesson plans to meet the individual needs of the student. All lessons are planned before the tuition lesson takes place. Individually tailored to your child’s needs, we meet children where they are at, tailored to your child’s unique learning style, building confidence and resilience to succeed in these areas.
Which subjects are offered in tuition lessons?
Swaine Tuition offers a programme of learning which fully covers the Maths and English National Curriculum at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Individually tailored to your child’s needs, areas covered in Primary English include a combination of Reading, Writing, Grammar, Vocabulary, Punctuation and Spelling. Tuition lessons for Primary Maths include a combination of Times Tables, Arithmetic, Problem Solving and Reasoning. We offer sessions for SAT’s preparation and transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 in Maths and English.
Where do the tuition lessons take place?
Each tuition session is conducted within the child’s home environment, providing the opportunity for personalised, face-to-face instruction with a private tutor in a familiar and comfortable setting.
Rates for tuition lessons
Our tutor rates are £35 / hour and are charged in advance in monthly blocks. This includes tutoring face-to-face in the child’s own setting. There is a limited number of slots after school for these sessions, so do get in contact to discuss one-to-one tuition. We do our best to fit in with your family’s schedule.

Swaine Tuition provides tuition lessons in Penistone and the surrounding areas of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
